As I myself do have a Macbook for my wife I decided to take a look at how Steam would work on it and found out this really annoying limitation:
Steam requires specific directories to be created with read-write access
The link name does not though state my issue, it's the "case insensitive filesystem" that made Steam uninstallable onto that Macbook. Yeah, I know that's not the default selection, but I like case sensitivity on my filesystems.
My Mac has an NVidia GeForce 7300 GT. Therefore Steam's source games won't work on my mac, which is a problem as that includes all but one of my steam games.
I'll stick with Crossover.
