Starship Titanic Partially Functional in Linux

I was able to successfully install Starship Titanic in a WinXP bottle on the following machine:

Soyo SY-7ISA+ Intel i815 Motherboard
Intel Pentium III 866 MHz Processor
512 MB SDRAM
PNY Verto GeForce FX 5200 AGP 8x 256 MB DDR
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI Sound Card (SB0220)
Samsung CD-RW/DVD Drive Model: TS-H492A/RSWN
Dual Boot openSUSE Linux 10.3/Windows XP Pro SP3
CodeWeavers CrossOver Games for Linux Version 7.1.2

At one point in the installation, it is necessary to choose whether to install several components necessary for the game:

Starship Titanic Program Files
Microsoft DirectX 5
Intel Indeo Video
Franhofer (sic) IIS MPEG Layer-3 Audio

I installed everything except Microsoft DirectX 5. I also did a complete installation.

After installation, the version on my machine was reported as Version 1.00.42b. The latest version is 1.00.42c, and the patches for the game can be found at the following URL:

The game would return to the desktop after some brief hard disk and CD-ROM activity on startup as Version 1.00.42b, but the game started properly after the upgrade to 1.00.42c. The splash screen displays, and the launcher is presented. After selecting the play option, the game starts and it is possible to rotate around the room and activate certain items. Music can be heard. Once you load the Titanic CD-ROM into the computer within the game, the "crash" occurs and the robot descends into the room. He appears to speak after he is positioned in front of you, but you can't hear what he says. After he finishes speaking, there is no cursor, and the game does not respond to keystrokes. It is then necessary to Alt-Tab to get back to the desktop and use the CrossOver application to terminate Windows applications in order to get the program to close. This also seems to be as far as anyone has gotten with the game using Wine according to the WineHQ application database.

I did a second installation into a Win98 bottle with a minimal installation, and I did get a little further into the game. However, the game eventually froze after some interaction with the robot, although I was able to hear him speak this time.
