As we indicated in our previous announcement, as of January 16, 2011, we are unfortunately no longer able to sell or operate Stargate Resistance. We are actively evaluating options for Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment, Inc. and its products, and will update you as soon as additional information is available. Thanks for the heads-up ; I did sign up for the beta of this (not expecting to get any reply ;), as I have followed the Stargate series (DVD) for the scifi and the fact I'm an aussie and many of my favorite 'home grown' actors feature as characters (Claudia Black always enchants me absolutely tho' ;)
Iirc, even then, in the forums there, there were threads about the game devs not getting their pay and such, and to an extent I was already considering what real chance did the title really have, when in real time Stargate SG1 was in the past, Stargate Atlantis had been and gone, and we'd already hit Stargate Universe (which moves away from the original format too much for mine and others), and the game itself -still- hadn't appeared. I think a good opportunity was possibly missed due to poor timing, like ... I think it would've flown if they'd got the game out before the beginning of SG1 season 4 ; it sort of became 'too late' when that didn't happen. Oh well...
Still, there's always a chance someone will pick it up and finish it off, or not, only time can tell. It's still going to appeal (as a game) to those fans of the series who want to relive what Stargate was ... perhaps even more so now since Stargate Universe came out ... so this C4 page might be of use someday, who can tell ... perhaps a slight alteration in the description field is in order.. me fix ;)
Oh! ... I noticed over on the moddb site, many are working on similar thing as a game mod, which probably makes a good deal of sense when you think about it .. ie; is Stargate anything more than an existing game engine/resource couldn't already handle?.. I doubt it 8)
