thanks Liam! i'll give it a look and report back!
edit so far it seems to be slightly better, but it's still occurring. did you do anything else besides adding that line?
thanks!
edit2 i've tried lowering my graphics settings now and that seems to really help. i just played a good amount trying to crash it like usually do and it didn't crash.
so there might be hope here. =) thanks! i still hope to hear back about what Crossover might say from my crash logs. i'm even on a different Kernel than the one listed for this bug.
thanks again!
edit 3 ok, it can't be that fix because terminal returns this error:
sysctl: cannot stat /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope: No such file or directory
i'm on Chakra Linux, an offshoot of Arch. i guess the internals are more different. thanks though! will keep chugging away at it!
edit 4 it seems to help a great deal if i drop the shaders to High instead of Ultra, much more resilient to things that would have crashed it earlier. but it still occurs if i, say, open the menu while in a mission. =/
dropping to the Medium setting again increases stability, so i can open the menu in campaign and it not crash.
edit 5 ok, so i can either drop shaders and settings to Medium, and have Textures at Ultra. or drop Textures to High, and shaders to High. so maybe it's a VRAM issue?
edit 6 ok! got it! derpy as i am, naturally the problem was an unstable overclock setting. adjusted, and all my problems have now vanished. =)
thanks all, sorry for the trouble and glad we fixed that other Bonus Objective bug!
