installer doesnt even launch

I tried through the actual app installer (created the bottle, then quit while claiming the install was a success), tried using cxrun on /media/cdrom/Installer.exe, and even tried running the aforementioned installer file with Wine (1.1 something or other; downloaded .deb from winehq.org on 27 July, 2010), still to no avail.

This is RETAIL SC2, btw. Not a beta or demo. Haven't tried copy/paste method yet - currently waiting for the game to install on my friend's winxp box. Will update here when I know if I can get it to run that way.

Installer Works fine. You need to set the bottle as WinXP not Win2000. If it doesn't work with CDROM you could connect to battle.net, log with your credentials and download the Installer which has installed SC2 correctly for me.

You should definitely try the public beta of CrossOver Games 9.1, too.

After test the CD is not working with the 9.0.0. But the Installer downloaded from battle.net website is working. I test with the 9.1.0

problem is the same with 9.1.0beta3

9.1.0rc4

CD-ROM Installer doesn't work.
b.net installer works fine, but the game crashes on start (Blizzard Error Reporter shows up).

With 9.0.0 I have the Blizzard Repair Tool but after upgrading to 9.1.0 beta 3 the game is starting correctly. With wine 1.2rc5 the game start but no sound.

There's quite a few comments on Ubuntu forums about remounting the dvd, since the way it mounts hides the actual installer data.

Not so much a cross over issue as wtf happened to my files issue.

The final release of CrossOver Games 9.1 contains an installation profile for StarCraft II and a few targeted improvements which will help with installation. You still need to overcome the mount issues that Step Wallace mentions, however. CrossOver should suggest a route around that but it doesn't work on all distros.
