StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Mac Beta Coming Soon

Don't know bout the rest of you but I'm happy that they are releasing a Mac version of this game.
And for those of us who had trouble getting this game running on CX Games this is a welcome relief. Now we too get to play the beta. =)

Shacknews recently revealed that Blizzard Entertainment's next next beta patch for the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty client will pave the way for the release of a Mac version of the beta. The update will also include the Galaxy Editor, giving testers the chance to explore the toolset. SC II will pick up a few years after the end of Broodwar and will follow the story of the Terrans.

Yesterday, **Blizzard revealed that the next beta patch should be launching this week** along with the much-anticipated Galaxy Editor, which will allow gamers to create their own maps and script their own scenarios.

At best, the patch could hit today along with another database reset, but should be released by the end of this week according to lead producer Chris Sigaty.
The editor will not allow users to publish creations to the Battle.net 2.0 cloud, which is planned for the retail release of the game, but it will give players an opportunity to learn the scripting engine and get to work on their creations. Eventually (a year after release) map-makers will be able to sell their creations on the Battle.net Marketplace.

**Additionally, the Mac beta client will be made available 3-4 days following the patch.**

Now although StarCraft II beta's close beta is running for Windows, Mac users need not feel outcast. Chris Sigaty, lead for StarCraft II, revealed to Kotaku that Blizzard will be releasing StarCraft II Beta for Mac users sometime next week. Apart from that, developers will also release Map Editor for the existing Windows-based StarCraft II beta testers.

Blizzard's sci-fi real-time strategy game StarCraft II had impressed Windows-based closed beta testers. These beta testers will receive a massive update that will now bring the much demanded Map and Mod Editor. This means that beta testers will have fun customizing it by next week. StarCraft II Beta is based on Battle.net architecture.

Last month Blizzard confirmed its plans to introduce StarCraft II beta on Mac platforms sometime in April. And now Sigaty has revealed that the beta for Mac is due next week. So all Mac users, stay glued to this space and also get a Battel.net account at - http://www.battle.net.
