Dual Monitor Problem

Does anyone know if its possible to run Star Craft with dual monitors? I'm having some major issues.

Problems
1- The mouse doesn't stay locked in the screen where the game is playing

  • I already activated "Allow DirectX to stop the mouse leaving their window" in Wine Config.

2- The resolution of the game is messed up

3- I cant click on anything on the game screen

I'm using Ubuntu with kernel 2.6.38-8,Nvidia Driver Version 270.41.06

I hope someone can shed some light on this problem

Thank you

Yes i've found a solution to this Problem 😀

first of all you need to put both monitors as a Seperate X without Xinerama. Then you need to edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Go to the ServerLayout Section and put your Screen 1 to a point outside the range like this

Screen 1 "Screen1" 2000 0

save the file.

no go to http://ds.mcbf.net/wiki/DualscreenMouseUtils and download the latest release (today dualscreen-mouse-utils-0.5.tar.gz) extract it and compile it with make

restart your gdm.

At this point you can't move the mouse to your other screen, if you start mouse-wrapscreen.sh
it will be possible, execute it again and its blocked again.

Remeber not to change anything in your nvidia utils or else your Screen sections are back to Screen1 right of screen 0 or something like this.

Hope it helps u.

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Could you write something more comprehensive/detailed and post it in the tips and tricks section? It would be a great addition!

Thanks,
Sheldon.

It would be nice to know if Gabriel tryed the solution and if it works for him, if it does i would put it into the tip section

But it worked for you, correct? If so I'd still put it in as a possible solution. Just state that it works for you and that for others YMMV. Better to have some kind of solution than no solution.

Sheldon, your right, i've just made it a tip and hopefully there are some replies if it works or if there any problems :)
