Performance Wine vs CxGames 10

Hi all!

I bought CxGames10 for my brother as a gift to give him some comfort in playing games on Linux.
When trying Starcraft 2 on CxGames 10, the game runs much slower than on Wine (started with 1.3.x)...
Also sound problems came up, what were never an issue with Wine...
A little disappointing:(

Can someone help me out with advice?

Claus

System Information:

Fedora 14 i386
4 GB RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz
Nvidia 9600 GT 512MB with Nvidia-260.19 driver
Kernel 2.6.35.10-74.fc14.i686.PAE

Please check out the Tips and Tricks section for problem spots.

Also, wrt perfomance, I am experiencing great performance on CX Games but I haven't tried vanilla wine. Being that I believe cxgames is a bundled gui and scripts on top of wine I would be surprised if there were any large differences other than possibly due to using different versions of wine.
