Registry edits still worthwhile?

it's been awhile since i've used CX but i'm glad to be back. =) it seems a lot has changed so i'm wondering, is it still worth it for this title to make regedits? the game seems to recognize my GPU, it defaulted to all the highest settings.

before i used to have to manually add my GPU identifiers and RAM size to regedit to get things to work right.

well, not sure if it's still helpful, but i decided to go with what i know for the time being. ;) i put in these edits, which seem to have improved my performance a bit (FPS in the 30s now, even with CPU freq bug.)

$ regedit
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine/Direct3D
To create new entries: Right-click on Direct3D, select New -> String Value
DirectDrawRenderer opengl
Multisampling disabled
OffscreenRenderingMode pbuffer
PixelShaderMode enabled
RenderTargetLockMode readtex
StrictDrawOrdering disabled
UseGLSL disabled
VertexShaderMode hardware
VideoMemorySize 1536 (Change this to however much memory your card has)
