@ Landon Kortman
i tried to email you but it wouldn't send for some reason (something to do with gmail i think)
so ill copy everything from the email in here:
- start crossover and go to install software
- insert 1st cd into your cd drive
- in the install software window, search for “the old republic”, it should show up as a crosstie (under community supported applications) , click it
- where you select what installer to use, click choose installer file, and go to the cd and select the setup.exe
- for the bottle version and name selection, it says to use XP, I’ve used both xp and win7 bottles for SWTOR, so thats pretty much up to you
- check for this before continuing: under installation notes at the bottom, it should say that its gonna install Microsoft DirectX runtime - modern, visual C++ 2008 (9.0) as well
- hit install and allow all the installers to run as normal
- when the SWTOR installer finishes, uncheck the box that says something like “play SWTOR now”, otherwise the install process for crossover won’t stop
- just click finish, the installers should all close
- go to drive c for your new bottle, and look for the file called “launcher.exe” (if you can’t find it, try using the spotlight search at the top of the finder window and set it to search in "drive c”)
- open “launcher.exe” and let the game patch to the most recent version
- after its done patching, close everything, including crossover (just in case)
- I’m attaching the SWTOR fix files to this email, after closing out crossover, go to your c drive again, paste swtor_fix.exe into your c drive (anywhere should be okay, i think i put mine in “program files”
- open swtor_fix.exe
- after swtor_fix.exe has started (nothing should show up, only thing that should happen is the little gear icon should bounce on the crossover icon in the dock
- then go find swtor.exe and open that, now the launcher should re open and ask you to sign in
- sign in, wait for it to load and when the “play” button lights up, go kill some Sith scum :)
added notes
-loading times will vary map to map, be very patient, if loading for anything takes longer than about 10 minutes, try closing everything and restarting the game
-also, while playing, if you open the map, don’t hover the mouse over any POIs on the map or it’ll cause the game to crash
-dont change any graphics settings while playing or it’ll crash
-this isn’t a very reliable port, lags kinda bad but it is definitely still playable!!!!
hopefully new versions of wine in the future will improve things for us star wars fans
good luck, and may the force be with you!

add me if you’d like
here’s the fix.exe files, you can pretty much ignore all the other files in this folder, I found no need for anything but the fix.exe, the other files are just things like instructions but I didn’t need them, maybe if you happen to encounter errors you can try their instructions.....
