Broken in newer versions?

Can anyone explain to me why games support seems to be getting worse? Crossover games 9.2 could run most games that I wanted, without problem, but not they have been downgraded status or even fail to work at all. (?) This is of course more of a rhetorical question then anything, I just don't understand how this can be happening?

I agree with you, I continue to wait for new game loads but I see none, SWTOR and GW2 are two of the biggest games on the market, and I continue to get reason why it can NOT be done. I am running windows once again, and thinking of staying there for games, because it would seem we can not get any new games to run by code weavers, but here is the kicker, play on linux seems to be very active, here at code weavers it seems to be excuses. I feel like I wasted my money.

...bugs... http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=26284 ...seems
like as they patched the game, they also moved it's compatibility away from wine (1.4),
which is what cx is currently based on...

PlayOnLinux and Crossover are different. They both rely on wine but that all they have in common. POL uses various versions of wine to run programs while Crossover usually sticks to the stable branch of wine (1.4.x at the moment). There are pros and cons to each approach. The way POL does things allows them to use the latest version of wine if that helps run a program, however that same version may contain regressions that break things for other programs. The way Crossover works is that most programs very rarely break due to problems in wine but reliability comes at the price of being slower to support newer stuff.

I understand your frustration but in all fairness Codeweavers do not advertise GW2 or SWTOR as being officially supported.

So i guess we have to wait until a new version of wine comes out before this game can run better?
