Game freezes at certain points...

If you choose a jedi knight character, it will load to introduction area. Once you take the taxi to the first fight area, the game freezes (sound bite continues as loop).
If you choose a Jedi consular character, you'll be lucky to even load past the intro.
If you choose a sith warrior, the first area, korriban, plays fairly well, with only a little jerkiness. Once you leave korriban (around lvl 9 or 10) and arrive at dromund kaas, game freezes on first conversation starter (check in at dromund kaas spaceport).

Load times elsewhere are fairly long, but to be expected. I haven't tried any other characters yet, but have heard of other people with similar results.

Has anyone managed to take a sith character past the entry point to dromund kaas yet? Or gotten a jedi character working? (I'd really like to hear of any solutions to these crashes... before I resort to bootcamp! lol)

Got a level 43 Sith Marauder and a 23 Bounty Hunter so I've been through plenty of planets.

At some planets the framerate is horrible but acceptable. Never experienced any freezes but 2 or 3 disconnects at the loading screen. These disconnects happened after 5+ hours of gameplay.

The transitsystem ingame (Speeders/jetbikes) is extremly hard on the framerate, it becomes a slideshow. Barely acceptable but it ain't that important.

Should have written something earlier but been to busy playing...

My Mac:
iMac, i7
3,4 GHz
8 GB Ram
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB

There is hope! :)

Both inquisitor and warrior are freezing at the same point (checking in to dromund kaas).

I wonder if it is just that I'm running a lower spec'ed mac? Might come down to processing power to drive it through...

running:

24" imac
2.8GHz core 2 duo
4GB ram
ati redeon hd 2600 pro 256mb
OSX 10.7

My apologies Dave. I have the exact system you are on. I haven't played SWTOR on this particular system in a while as I've been testing it on other systems where it works fine.

Unfortunately, I see the exact behaviors you are describing. SWTOR is updated to 1.5.x and I'm using our build specifically for SWTOR.

I see the most success with UseGLSL set to enabled, DirectDrawRenderer set to opengl, VRAM set to 256. I've also set 'Emulate a Virtual Desktop' to 800x600, hoping for better performance.

I only replicate a lockup where the sound continues but the game is frozen. I can take a few steps, but that is about it. I have filed a bug with our developers to take a further look but I do not believe a solution is at the ready at this time. Again, my apologies.

Tomas what was your settings and such for the game to run for some reason it wont let me load my Sith Marauder...

Jeff

Hi Everyone,

I think I'm having a similar problem to Dave, only mine is occurring with two level 25 characters who can't log in to Tatooine. Gameplay has been great up through Nar Shadaa (I've had the same issues with the transit system that Tomas mentioned, but all in all the game is quite playable). Now, whenever I try to log into Tatooine (or Alderaan), the loading screen hangs for awhile then kicks me back to the character selection screen. I've requested help from the in-game customer support but they haven't been able to figure out what's going on, so I'm wondering if maybe it's something with CrossOver?

I'm running:

MacBook Pro
OS X Version 10.7.3
2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000, 512 MB VRAM

Registry Settings in my SWTOR bottle in CrossOver:

useGLSL enabled
VideoMemorySize 512

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Daniel
