BIG HAIRY DEAL!! I got a invite today, but all it said was that I will be selected to beta test... there was no link today for the download itself.. supposedly its going to be at a future date (hopefully thanksgiving weekend).
This was like a previously received email thanking me for beta testing. This whole experience with Bioware's beta testing program like that esp of Seinfield where the baker says... "NO Bread for you!!" Allot of promises but no product.
(on a Mac, latest 10.6.x)
I got into the test this weekend, and here's the news. You can install the game (all 30GB of it, grrrr). You can launch the game. And then it will hang. :(
I may have to install Windows for this game. :(
It looks like some people over at the SWTOR Wine AppDB have managed to get the game working. Sounds like you need a patch to get the launcher working properly, and then once your inside the performance is reportedly unusually poor. Things are looking up a bit though..
Unfortunately i have gotten into this weekends beta, the unfortunate part being i don't have space to install linux and windows on my current ssd drive and my hdds are busted.
