I tried installing the Steam version under Crossover 15.0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit. The intro video ran without problems, and the in-game graphics looked fine, in both full-screen and windowed mode.
Occasionally the mouse was misaligned in the menus (the mouse pointer was in one place, but your click affected another place in the menu). I couldn't try disabling hardware mouse, because I couldn't find that option in the menus!
The mouse problem used to be fixed by running a virtual desktop. Can you confirm this is still the case?
I reinstalled the game, and now it works flawlessly using the default settings. No need to use a virtual desktop.
I tested it until I escaped the Endar Spire and woke up on Taris. This included in-game cinematics, battles, and dialogs.
Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit)
nVidia GeForce GT-730 with proprietary drivers v361.42
CrossOver 15.1.0, with default settings for installing Steam
Knights of the Old Republic, current Steam version
