Installed SWG last night with CrossOver Games 9.1.0 in a WinXP Bottle. Had a few hiccups initially, but things seem to be working good now. I'm surprised how good, actually.
I found some tips on this forum (https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=23;forum=1;msg=71259) that I'll repeat here with some additional information to help anyone else who is having trouble (or just to save you time!)
Step 1. Download and install CrossOver Games.
Step 2. Download the full game installer for SWG:
http://download.station.sony.com/patch/download/swg/SWGTrial14-Day.exe
Note: Important! Do not download the game through the 14-Day Free Trial link on SOE's Official SWG Website - it's only a download assistant. This link is for the full version of the game and can be used by people with new accounts and existing accounts. For new players, you can opt to take advantage of the 14-Day Free Trial. This version also comes with the original Launch Pad (good), not the new "Station Launcher" (bad).
Step 3. If you dont already have one, sign up for a Station Launcher Account:
https://account.station.sony.com/reg/primaryRegistration!input.action?theme=station
Note: You will need this to sign into the game.
Step 4. EITHER A) Purchase a subscription for the game online using your Station Launcher account (above)
OR B) Activate the 14-Day Free Trial for your new Station Launcher account (see notes below).
Note: SWG on CrossOver seems to have difficulty registering the 14-Day Free Trial. In order to activate the Trial you will need to install the game on a PC or on your Windows Partition in BootCamp (if available). Proceed through the installation and login as normal. When prompted, select 14-Day Free Trial and the Launcher will begin to analyze the installation on your computer. You can abandon the update and return to your Mac / CrossOver. When you attempt to login via CrossOver, the login will proceed to Character Creation and into the game as normal. Don't ask me why!
Step 5. Start up the game and Login. The Launch Pad will analyze your installation and install updates and patches. This could take a few hours, consider making a sandwich :)
Note: If you are having difficulty logging in and keep getting a blank pop-up window, chances are you didnt not follow Step 4. You will either need to have an active subscription before you can login successfully, or you will need to have activated your Trial through other means (above).
Hope this will help others save some time and hair loss! Happy Gaming!
