Anti-Aliasing memory glitch with CrossOver 11

I noticed a strange behaviour regarding the texture memory management in STO when using CrossOver 11 and the recently-supported Anti-Aliasing feature.

The more the AA is increased, the more the game appears to limit the available memory for textures. For example, turning it up to 8X results in most textures in Earth Spacedock becoming extremely blurred and pixelated.

If anyone else is experiencing this behaviour, there is a quick and simple fix:

Go into STO's video settings and scroll to the bottom. Click on 'Troubleshooting' to expand the extra options and change the 'Video memory limit' to '1024+ MB'. This appears to fix the texture issue when using AA.

I'm not sure if it applies to all systems, so here's my relevant info for reference:

  • Early-2011 MacBook Pro
  • Core i7 2.2GHz quad core
  • AMD Radeon 6750M 1GB
  • 8GB RAM
  • CrossOver 11.0.2 (11.0.2.25991)
  • OS X Lion 10.7.3
