STO in 9.2.0 demo freezes at startup

Hi,

I am running the Crossover 9.2.0 Demo on a macbook with OSX 10.5.8. I had a real trouble getting the software to patch in the beginning but then it finally worked. But now I have been stuck with the same error for days. I just get Oops 11765761. I get to the screen where you can create a new character but its just a black background and I can't click anything. I havent changed anything in the config files but if you have some suggestions please let me know. I was really looking forward to try this game out during christmas break :(.....

Jonas

When you launch STO, are you choosing the lowered graphics settings?

Assuming yes, when you're in the opening screen where you can create a character and then click "play", can you click on "back"? If so, try lowering the graphics settings inside "options>Video".

You might also try setting the game to launch in an emulated virtual desktop. To do so, go to CX Games' Configure>Manage Bottles settings. With the STO bottle highlighted, go to Configure>Winecfg, and in the graphics tab set an emulated virtual desktop (1344x1008 should be big enough to be usable, but won't take up your whole screen unless you've got a fairly small monitor). Apply, OK, and then try launching STO.

Any luck with any combination of the above? If not, what sort of graphics card does your Mac have?

Hi,

Thank you for your help. Yes I did choose the lowered settings at startup. I tried pressing back but none of the buttons are clickable. The Wine emulator did unfortunately not help either.
My graphic card is of model GMA X3100.
Any ideas?

Jonas, you said you're using CrossOver 9.2.0. You should be using CrossOver Games 9.2.0. And, when you use CrossOver Games, it will have built-in knowledge about installing Star Trek Online. You should use that knowledge, by selecting Star Trek Online from the list of applications in CrossOver's Software Installer window.
