I'm looking for a solution for having the dock visible while the app is in Full Screen mode. The upper finder bar is also visible. I am not interested in having my Dock auto-hide, as I just want the app to behave.

That specific problem can usually be solved by tweaking your full-screen resolution. I don't quite remember the specific settings at the moment, but in STO and other games I usually have to choose 1920x1178 (my fullscreen resolution is 1920x1200) to get rid of this problem.
