Crashing upon entering Earth Space Dock

Hi guys!
It seems that whenever I enter the ESD on Recommended settings, the game begins to stutter for around 5 seconds before finally crashing.

Does anyone else have this issue?

(I'm running via CrossOver Games, Mac OS X 10.6.7 on MacBook Pro 15" 2010)
