STO and CXG 10.0.0

Hello and Help,

I was pleased with getting the email link to CXG 10.0.0. I immediately installed it and got further than I did with CXG 9.2.0, which was a white window with "loading, please wait". Now in 10.0 I can see the anniversary screen and the normal places to enter your account name and password, but when I press "submit", nothing happens. There's nothing at the bottom telling me if it's updating or if there are any signs that I will get to the "engage" button. I'm running a MBP 3.06 Ghz duo core and OSX 10.6.6.

I look forward to your reply. Thanx

For the time being, while we work on the issue, you can work around it by installing the Microsoft HTML Rendering Engine 7 into the bottle. You can just install that using CrossOver's Software Installer. You'll find that engine under Community Supported Software.

For new installs, the CrossTie linked from the Details page (see the tab above) has been updated to install this automatically. If you let CrossOver 10 download updates of its CrossTie database, it will pick this change up in a day or so.

Even though the screen flickers violently and takes forever to load after the insgnia/loading screen, the game seems to work fine. Haven't run into any problems yet. Thanx.

Yeah, if you install MSHTML7, you will be able to log in and patch. Some people are having slowdown issues with the patch process, but I am not.

Thanks for this info. Installing the HTML7 renderer is letting me get logged in and patched but the box is strobing like a discotech while it patches. Is this what others are seeing?

Yeah, thats what we are talking about when we say flicker :D

I should see what it takes to get that flicker to stop.

I get the flicker but... when it patches it has a nasty habit of locking up... so something is amiss still....before they changed it, it wouldn't lock up during patching.

That's odd, I was able to patch no problem. I just keep crashing every hour or so. At least I get to play, maybe I should count myself lucky.

Hello,

Got the launcher running. And i patched the game.
At the login screen it says the server is online.
Bud after i logged in the server appears to be offline.

Also i can not choose STO only option it gives me is Champions Online(Which works).
Not the game i'm looking for.

Now i have to say i didn't buy the game. i was hoping to play the demo and see if i like the game before i buy it.

Thanks for any tips.

Duco.

I managed to get it to patch although installing using the CrossTie would always throw me an error when installing the C++ Redist files. It would say the installer closed but didn't appear to complete. I manually installed a vc_redistx86.exe file from the microsoft website, and despite the same violent launcher flicker it appears to be working!
