no longer working in 8.0?

I'm using crossover 8.0 on an iMac desktop.

When attempting to simply install and play BC didn't work, I came here, the reinstalled BC and followed the instructions on Tips & Tricks, however, I'm still getting the following message:
The program stbc.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Have I possibly missed something? I'm still new to crossover games. Suggestions?

Okay. Closing in on a solution now.

I installed BC to a new bottle (XP). Following the tips and tricks, I put the dinput and dinput8 in the win32 folder for the bottle, and edited the userreg file. Note, instead of editing the userreg, you can also open the winecfg for the bottle, go to 'libraries' and add the note. Not sure if it makes a difference. I followed the tips and tricks.

I then, still following the tips and tricks, opened the options.cfg and copypasted the item straight from 'tips and tricks' to the options.cfg file.

Voila. Opening vids and movies now play.

Unfortunately, for some reason, my keyboard didn't work. Following advice I found here (http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10207) I went back to the winecfg for the bottle (go to 'Manage Bottle', then 'control panel' then click 'winecfg' and 'launch selected item'). Under the 'applications' tab, I changed 'windows version' to WindowsME.

Voila. Keyboard and Mouse now work.

Oh, one helpful hint: when you want to skip the movies, press ENTER! Do NOT press esc. Pressing esc crashes the game on my mac. Pressing ENTER skips the movie. Just wanted to share.

I installed Bridge Commander to a Windows 98 bottle. I then went to c drive for the bottle, opened the bridge commander folder under program files-activision, and edited the options.cfg using TextEdit. I copied and pasted the information from the Tips and Tricks Tab:

I installed the 1.1 patch to the bottle.

The game runs beautifully.

This game is no longer playable in 9.0 because the menus are messed up.
