Not sure how to download and install Flash for CrossOver Games

The facts:

During the installation (through BFG Game Manager) I got the message "this game requires you install Flash"

I agreed and was taken to the Adobe site via Internet Explorer (Wine)

I hit the download button.

I was then asked if I have an alternate browser.

I stopped at that point. Could you please tell me how to proceed with the download? How to install?

Since there are no threads in this forum. I am feeling quite inadequate. Has everyone figured this out but me?

Thanks for the help!

Hi again,

It's probably only after the following ;

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=6458

...which is also available under 'Runtime Support Components' in
the cxinstaller GUI (Flash Player 10)..

Cheers!

Thanks, Don.

Created new BFG GM bottle.
Installed crosstie Flash 10 into new bottle.
Installed game.

BFG GM apparently did not recognize Flash, and asked for it again. When I answered no, I got a nasty error message from the GM. 😊

Dear, oh, dear -- I was so hopeful.

...Hi,

...the only other thing I can think of, is to install this as well ;

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=7856

...which BFG title is this anyhow?

Cheers!

Hi Don,

The game is Redemption Cemetery: Children's Plight.

I will use the link you sent above, try to install the game again, and edit this post with results.

Wish me luck!

Thanks!
Roberta

Yes! The directX component was the answer. You are a genius! Thanks Don. I will pass this solution on to the BFG Mac Forum players.

..great, good to hear -- the other Redemption Cemetery title requires
flash as well (I just looked at it's crosstie), but doesn't need the
low-level flashplayer stuffs -- for other BFG titles using flash, the
same approach holds true ; try just installing the flashplayer by
itself first (a lot of the time that's enough), and if needed the other
runtime containing the additional hooks...

Cheers!

ps: btw, it's activex controls, not directx =)
