S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Forum

I've got: CrossOver 6.2 for Mac, Steam with a lot of games..

I installed Steam in the new bottle with default setting (Win2000 bottle).
It runs great!
Then I installed all my Steam games (all Valve games and STALKER).
This forum is for STalker, so...
It installed ok. Then I launched it... No deal!
First - Splash screen (all white) appeared, after that - an empty (very small) X11 screen opened and... that's it!
No stalker - only small X11 screen and high CPU usage :(
I tried other bottle types - same :(
Then I signed for participation in this game to make it playable :)
I will try to help to make this game playable (if CodeWeavers'll accept me:( )

Does STALKER have an opening video at that splash screen? Is that a launch option that you can set to skip the video? (For example, many Valve games support a -novid launch option.) Is there a key you can hit (space or escape) to skip the video? If you hit that key, does the game eventually get past the splash screen?

I'm going to disappoint you - splash screen is a simple image and it cannot be turned off or skipped by keypressing :(
the game is passing that screen and it won't be displayed correctly - only small X11 screen :(

but!

I just downloaded and launched latest Nightly build and it runs! :) but with cyan screen and no mouse outside X11 window :(
I will change STALKER config file, that it could be running in DX81 mode and tell you my results

So, my summary tests with nightly builds:

1. Stalker is running by itself in DX8 and DX9 mode
2. no fonts, no menus, no startup videos, no splash screen
3. After game started and menu loaded (I hear this!:) I clicked Enter and game loaded very fast :) It really faster then on my PC with the same graphics :) But, like I said - no menus and huds - just great video and sound :(

I hope, this may help (I tried some of that commands - all work fine)

If you need some additional information, please tell me, cuz it seems to me that game is using a LOT OF windows API which is stupid, but Leopards API are really good, so it makes game run faster :)

I for one would be very interested in seeing STALKER work on Crossover 7.0 as well! :)

It works great, but...
I dunno why, it is running in Static Lighting only. I was unable to change it, because this option is disabled :(
I don't know how to enable it. Any ideas?

But I saw no bugs yet, while playing. Except filtering setting on, which makes game crappy.

Hi there, I would be very interested to see how you got it to work, I'm trying to find the command to get it to work in a window instead of full screen! :(
