GUI not ok either

I am running SPSS 11.0.0 in cxoffice 4.01 (standard) SPSSS starts fine, but the open existing data dialog box is too small. The open other data is ok, but not the regular open dialog box. It is very annoying since I can't open any data this way. I can't resize the window (in KDE 3.3.2 on debian) either.
