Its odd, I install spore + the patches + the expansion packs, but the game wont launch. The sporeapp.exe is in my procceses, but nothing shows up on the screen. I've even tried it with and without the expansion packs and update but still the same thing happens.

Going by the WineHQ AppDB, you might be running into DRM issues ;

Note also on that page, the recommendation for wine-1.1.26 or better
(crossover games 8.x is based on wine-1.1.24) ; seems a lot of crossover
users running linux have it working...
As a officially supported title here however, it'd be worth submitting
a support ticket on this one.

Ya I though it might be a drm issue as well, but I remember codeweavers having a fix for it. Ill submit a ticket and see what they say.
