Videos don't play - only whitescreen

Video's don't play and show only a white screen. Pressing enter, escape, or space seems to get past them OK. This problem is well documented in the Wine app database and Wine bug tracker. Video played was visible in Wine 0.9.2, but slow, and broke in later releases of Wine.
