I was able to install SAPI5 and TextAloud3 under Crossover 22.

Here are the steps:

1. Create a 32bit bottle (For example, a Windows 7 bottle named TextAloud)
2. Run one of these sentences:
   a. Using the wine version installed on the system:

   WINEPREFIX=~/.cxoffice/TextAloud WINEARCH=win32 winetricks -q speechsdk

   b. Using the wine version of Crossover:
   Set TextAloud as the default bottle (replace <USER> with your user name) and run:

   env WINE=/opt/cxoffice/bin/wine WINEPREFIX=/home/<USER>/.cxoffice/TextAloud WINEARCH=win32 sh winetricks -q speechsdk

3. Install SAPI5 voices and TextAloud3
   (TextAloud4 requires dotnet40 https://www.ablereader.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=25289&sid=586a8ffb9feafed11ea00d789f130df3#p25289)

Hope someone could update the recipe.

Thanks! This is very encouraging. However I'm not sure how to access winetricks in a bottle and the forums and the forums don't seem to offer any help.. I'm using Crossover Linux, BTW.

Sorry for not answering you earlier. This trick still works with CrossOver 23, but I was not able to make it work with the wine version of CrossOver.

To install SAPI5 voices and TextAloud 3 or 4 in CrossOver 23:

Install winetricks: https://wiki.winehq.org/Winetricks or search for more information about this process.

Create a Windows 7 32bit bottle named TextAloud.
Run the winetricks command:

1. Open a Linux terminal
2. Paste this code
   WINEPREFIX=~/.cxoffice/TextAloud WINEARCH=win32 winetricks -q speechsdk
3. Press Enter.

You will have to wait a little bit while winetricks does the magic. You will see something like this in the Linux terminal:

Using winetricks 20230212-next - sha256sum: be4196ba3358be7c68cb58e7a7cbe9b37418e12e92beb88876e119998f438532 with wine-8.14 (Staging) and WINEARCH=win32
Executing w_do_call speechsdk
Executing load_speechsdk 
Executing wine winecfg -v win2k
...

Finally, install TextAloud by running the setup directly in the bottle (not by finding it in the list of installable applications). TextAloud4 requires the installation of dotnet40. (You can set the Windows version of the bottle to Windows 7 32 bits again)

Hope someone could create a new recipe for this setup and give 4 stars to TextAloud (The extensions do not seem to work out of the bottle).

A Codeweavers representative told me that a recipe will be created, but the current one was not updated.
