Spectraball did not display any issues when installed via the Steam interface,
however running the game has a couple of glitches;
On some setups (including my own), the ingame graphics are not displayed, as
if hidden behind a white-sheet snowstorm. To correct this, go into the
game's Options=>Graphics menu and disable Dynamic Lighting - the ingame
graphics should now be rendered. I have a suspicion this is related to the
nvidia physx package, that is installed along with the game.
There is some font clipping/rendering issue in the game menus - they are
however totally usable, and such doesn't impact on gameplay at all.
The installation procedure I used was this simple ;
- Purchase the game via Steam using my system's default web-browser (firefox 3.5.x)
- Install the Steam client via the cxinstallwizard builtin target (if not already installed)
- Start the Steam client, login and download/install the Spectraball software
- Launch the game
I'm giving it a silver for now - it may make gold if the noted glitches are ever
overcome in future COG releases.
Cheers!
