Freezes my Mac

Hey there people !

I wanted to try out the demo version for Space Pirates and Zombies. I downloaded the demo version from the website of the creators, and installed it into its bottle. I've included Direct X modern to support the game. I've regedit the bottle to specify the ram for my video card, and the various small tweaks to enable the opengl rendering.

Once I fire the game up, it starts, I have the box where I can change the resolution for the game, and specify the details. I've tried a lot of combinations, including the directX compatibility mode, but no luck for now.

When I start the game, it preloads the game graphics. I then come to a screen explaining why I should buy the game. After that, I come to a screen where I can see SPAZ, and the game freezes completely my mac.

So for the moment I cannot make this game work with the latest crossover.

Is there any one out there who managed to make this game work and could give me its recipe ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi,

....I have got it to work on my iMac, but it's unplayable for the
most part -- it's at least playable on linux, but, to get to that
point means binding the SPAZ exe to a single CPU core ; you can't
do this in MacOS....

...I think -maybe- if you enable 'emulate virtual desktop' via
the Wine Configuration GUI in crossover @ 1024x768 it might start
working (very poorly) on the Mac, but like I say, you're pretty
much wasting your time here at present...

Cheers!

Thanks Don...

Shame... But I won't search further if you say it is really slow... At least it works on Parallels very smoothly...

Edit : As a matter of fact it worked, and now it is even working in full screen res without emulating now... And as you said, it is unplayable at all due to the very laggy stuff...

Shame... :s
