Space Hulk Deathwing installed from Steam, but doesn't launch

Hello,

I have steam installed on my crossover, and I tried downloading this game from this Steam.
It installed as normal, however when i try to launch only the starting screen appears and then an error message pops up.

If there are ways to try to make it work I'd be glad for as much input as possible ! Otherwise if we have to wait for support well... I don't know why I do have a licence but can't seem to vote (I took the option to not have a subscription but rather only buy the current version.

Hi there,

I was able to get this game to run on my Mac with CrossOver 20.0.4 with DXVK enabled. To enable DXVK, right click on the name of your Steam bottle, go to Settings and select "DXVK Backend for D3D11." You will need to restart Steam after that is checked.

I did have trouble with the default resolution of the game, and I found this mentioned on Steam forums so it's clearly a game bug and not just a CrossOver issue; for example: https://steamcommunity.com/app/816090/discussions/1/1697175413672126546/ and https://steamcommunity.com/app/816090/discussions/1/1696048426809112399/. To work around this, I launched the game in windowed mode. To do this, right click on Space Hulk: Deathwing in your Steam library and select "Properties." In launch options, type in "-windowed" without the quotation marks and then close out of the Properties window.

Best,
Meredith

Thanks !! I'm trying this out !

Hey tried what you said, it launched but I only get a black screen.

Hi there,

What OS version are you running?

Meredith

It's macOS Catalina 10.15.7
Should I update it to a more current one ?

Hi there,

Hmm, Catalina is new enough so that shouldn't be the problem. How old is your Mac, and what graphics card do you have?

Thanks,
Meredith

My mac is pretty old at this point, it's imac from 2013
the graphic card i GeForce GT 750M 1 GO

Do you think that's the reason ?

Unfortunately, your hardware is likely the culprit :/

Best,
Meredith
