Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx setup guide for SolSuite 2010

This is how I managed to get this game running...

You will need to create a wine workspace for this game, as it does NOT like being minimized with window decorations. It won't come back.

Set the display area for the workspace to a minimum of 1024x768. 1280x1024 is preferred.

Once this has been done, make sure you download and install Direct X 9.0.

Done! Run the game.

It looks bad, but that's because WINE doesn't support this type of transparency which basically makes up the whole GUI. My mother reckons it goes slower, but I think she's BS-ing, as she reeeaaly hates Linux.

Good Luck!!

Hi,

Have you tried disabling desktop manager decorations etc in winecfg?

Cheers!

Might just work...

I say try anything as long as it doesn't give you gravel-rash.

Thanks

Yes your tip worked, now my mum has stopped complaining. Finally I can focus on my other games!
