Tried installing SolidWorks 2014 … and failed

I am the proud owner of SolidWorks 2014 Premium. I hadn't given CrossOver a try in many years and was wondering, whether the growth in its sophistication had benefited SolidWorks. Unfortunately, it hasn't. When I mount the SolidWorks 2014 disc image and let CrossOver install from it it gets to a point, where the installer says:

The Installation Manager encountered a problem with the Microsoft Web Browser control and must be shut down.

If you are running Windows XP, check that you have the latest Service Pack installed.

The latest version of Internet Explorer is also recommended.

Not sure, what this means, but it sure seems like a fatal failure of the installation process.

Maybe CrossOver can run SolidWorks at some point in the future, but maybe, Dassault will finally come out with a Mac version by then…
