I have successfully gotten Office 97 and Internet Explorer to run using Robert Lunnen port located at http://members.optusnet.com.au/boblweb/winedownload.html.
I think this is very encouraging.
If you need someone to help with testing out the CXOffice port to Solaris I would be glad to help out. It would be easy for me to sign an NDA.

Cool! That is very exciting news.
To be honest, we're still not targetting Solaris x86; we just
have not gotten enough customer demand for it yet.
We did make sure (a while back) that the CrossOver framework
as a whole works fine on Solaris, so it won't be hard to do.
We're hoping that Sun is going to step up to the plate
to sponsor the effort, but...

I'm going to need to try this out sometime. But I guess it is a really good sign. I love Sun's Java Desktop System, it is such a friendly look. If it ran microsoft apps ok, then I'm sure lots of people would use it.
