importing .xml with SimpleMind Pro

my .smmx files created with SimpleMind Pro for Windows have been transformed into .zip folders with .xml files and I can no longer open them with SimpleMind Pro. It will not import them. Does anyone know how transform them back into .smmx files? I do not even understand how this happened. It seems that it happened during my laptop restart, while Simple Mind Pro was open. Thanks in advance for your advice!
