Hello,
I'm trying to run Simcity 2013 with crossover but at the moment I had no luck.
When I try to install it from the CD it only installs Origin (which works once every 10 tries).
But even when it runs, Origin doesn't allow me to download the game (it stops forever after clicking on the Download button).

I tried to unzip the simcity.zip file from the CD to the HD and manually running Simcity.exe but it says it's missing ssleay32.dll (which is present in the Core folder).
I also tried to use regsvr32 on the dll but the dll cannot be registered.

Did anyone found a good way to run the game on Crossover?

Do any of the Origin games work with CrossOver?

It's not that the games would not work it's that Origin is broken in Wine and Crossover. Don't forget to vote for Origin on this page:

Hello everyone,

I've just installed the new SimCity on my MacBook through Origin, but it doesn't work. When I try to open it, an error message appears: "Activation .dll load failed"

Does anyone know what does this mean?

That's likely the game's DRM failing to run. Because of the DMCA we're not allowing to discuss DRM or workarounds involving it.

We are allowed to discuss getting the DRM to work as designed. Origin is like Steam, it doesn't rely on the CD hardware. It should be possible.

At least they're coming out with a Mac client (native from what I've heard, not a port). Should be out this "Spring" which gives them until, what... June?
