Sigmaplot 4.0 installs and works well under Crossover Office 4.2 Standard. I've created quite a few graphs, including some with error bars and log axes, and almost everything seems to work as expected. Also, there are reports that Sigmaplot 8 will only work if MSOffice is also installed (talk about the cure being worse than the disease!). This is definitely not necessary with Sigmplot 4. There are a few minor issues:
- I keep getting "Can't find international language library, resorting to US English" (or something like that) messages. Not a big problem.
- As noted with 8.0 and 9.0, the vertical axis label does not display properly, it's rotated 180 degrees and displaced down and to the left. Unlike the horizontal axis label, it can't be selected by mouse, but can be selected and edited from the menus. But, if you export as .wmf and then import into OpenOffice, now both axes are displayed properly, and the graph can be broken into individual objects for final editing. (The "Break" function seems to cause a slight shift in text objects, which you need to put back in their proper position.) You can even type-in Symbol font characters in Sigmaplot, e.g., Greek letters, and while these don't display in Sigmaplot they do show up correctly upon importation into OpenOffice.
Overall, this is a very usable program under Crossover 4.2. I'm not an official rater, but I'd rate it at least bronze if not silver.
