I bought a new MBP 13 last week.
I installed Crossover 12.5.1 and then proceeded to install Sierra Chart. I tested all the basic functions and it all worked fine. Sierra Chart is very compatible with wine.
I then wanted to upgrade to CX 13 for the full screen function.
Instead of upgrading my bottle, I uninstalled Crossover first and redid everything fresh.
What I found upon starting up Sierra Chart for the first time is that it could not retrieve new symbol settings. The output of the message log was
Requesting symbol settings for scfxcm. Overwrite = on. | 2013-11-20 17:18:28
Reading for a HTTP request (2) failed. Windows error code 18: No more files. | 2013-11-20 17:18:30
Request for symbol settings failed. | 2013-11-20 17:18:30
At first I thought I might of installed things incorrect but after reinstallation things were the same.
I reverted back to 12.5.1 to double check there wasn't anything wrong with the data server and that the problem was on my end. Going back to 12.5.1 allows the client to update symbols from the server.
To confirm the bug I upgraded back to crossover 13 and this time upgraded the 12.5.1 bottle. The update from server function stopped working.
What I recommend is to initially install 12.5.1 to get sierra chart setup. Once you have things setup and the symbols loaded then upgrade to crossover 13.
