The GamersHell mirror was updated to Atlus' client so you don't even have to modify your installation anymore.
Download the game from here: http://www.gamershell.com/download_88706.shtml.
If you are on a Macintosh you may see a screen like this: http://i.imgur.com/PEKmA.png In that case you will have to use Exposé/Mission Control to get to the installer itself: http://i.imgur.com/RfqIo.png. It happened to me a few times already.
Make sure that you also install the correct support components (DirextX 9 and Japanese Font Override) and install the client itself as 'Other Application'.

I am using ubuntu 11.10. I keep getting the mismatch error when updating. i got playonlinux installed too.
Before installinf crossover I could fully install and login but then the name would crash.
OK listen to this. The game fully updates now. But it runs into the Error 10001 problem when I am on the character screen.
Then I tried logging in again and it works. was playing fine untill i went to fuse a demon and the error 10001 shows up again and the game close.
Now it wont log in again.
Anyone else playing this on ubuntu??

I am now able to log in and out of the game quite often. seems pretty good
