Comparing Graphics: With and Without CXPatcher in Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  • Using CXPatcher: When installing CXPatcher, make sure to select the Latest Molten and AVX Advertise settings to enable DirectX 12! With CXPatcher, the game looks significantly better. I didn’t experience a single stutter during my run, and I even tinkered with ray tracing. While it had a heavy impact on performance, increasing it made the game look even nicer, despite some stutter.

  • Without CXPatcher: If you’re not using CXPatcher, the game’s visuals are degraded. Lighting and shadows look mediocre without DirectX 12 enabled, which detracts from the overall experience. Make sure to turn off DirectX 12 in the settings to launch the game properly.
