Hi,
A curious mind may ask, "Why is this silver and not gold, seeing as it works perfectly?"
That's a fair question...here's the logic of my ranking it silver.
Normally speaking, we rank apps/games relative to how they perform
on their native platform - Windows. We are also ranking a win32
executable at the same time. This C4 entry (and it's associated
C4P profile) would be neither of these things, and stands itself
outside of the normal medal guidelines, hence my reference to the
term 'Tungsten' ; it belongs in another group of metals 8)
However, it...like any other C4 entry....should be given a ranking
one way or another, and the only criteria I have to consider are
the details of the medal system we currently use...ergo..;
The Gold rank is awarded to applications that install and run as you would expect them to in Microsoft Windows.
*This C4 entry is not an application nor do we expect it to run in Microsoft Windows.
The Silver is awarded to applications that install and run well enough to be usable.
*This C4 entry is still not an application, however we do know it 'runs' well enough to be usable.
I'll take the second tier hit and fudge run to call it Silver <grin>...
Hmmm....I suppose if it does have a medal, it brings into question as
to whether or not that's an Official or Un-Official medal standing -
logic suggests it should be an Official medal ranking, but as such,
not necessarily be 'Officially Supported' because it isn't actually
an application perse...it's a C4P snippet.....then, comes the curious
notion of what to do about a screenshot...Hmmmm....perhaps it'd be
nice to have some visual 'gadget' in the spot where the screenshot
would otherwise go....uh-oh, looks like I just posted myself into a
corner - I'll ask one of our Redoubtable Ninjas for some wisdom wrt
these tidbits created by the act of ranking a C4 C4P Snippet with
the medal system....
...Silver, however, is what best fits the way things currently work.
