First of all, the tree structure is much different. On wine, you have only one tree structure for all application s and you may decide on which windows version each software is beeing used. On crossover, you have a tree structure for each bottle you are using, this means that you have to install all of them into the same bottle, and some parts do not work in the bottle win98 like it is predefined for IE6.
I am then making a XP bottle and setting it as standard. I am then installing IE6 and Office 2003 as "not supported application" and selecting another bottle (3rd choice). At this moment you can't choose the bottle but since XP is standard, 3rd choice means the XP bottle.
IE6 and Office2003 are correctly installed manually. For Trados, you also need the Visual Basic Scripting application (which you can only download using a genuine Windows copy because of the Microsoft Genuine test).
On Wine Visual Basic Scripting is installing fine and solved most of my problems in Word (seem that some dll are still missing). On crossover, vbscript.dll is failing to register so the installation fails.
At the moment, IE6 is not fully installing anymore on wine, so I can't test anymore how I did get to install .NET 1. I however got quite a big surprise on crossover. The installation of .NET 1 failed BUT as I installed all .dlls for runtime and the 3 needed for .NET 1, .NET 2 did install on its own as part of the Trados installation. I have now .NET 2 on the XP bottle, I don't know if it is fully working or not because at this moment I have problems with the installation of Trados.
Installing some native dlls as needed for fusion.dll did cause some clash with other dlls. during the installation of Trados. On Wine I didn't get this because as I got .NET 1, trados and runtime were already fully installed.
The problem of Wine about .dll not able to be copied from system32 to the respective Trados and SDLX directories do also exist on Crossover, although you don't notice it. Maybe it has a problem with user's rights of the files on cx directory on linux (since crossover is installed as root) and there may be some chmod changes to be done??
Otherwise I am quite eagerly expecting the next version. The installation is still very instable and holding the process or trying to uninstall it means that it freezes.
