Mostly working for me with v4.0.12 media and crossover 11.0.3

I tried installing version 4 (4.0.12) in previous versions of crossover and the product would fail to completely install by itself, and then run. I ended up manually installing and creating directories, but got stuck on the run bit.

Now with Crossover 11, the bottle I previously had installed runs! Yay!

Here are some of the notable details I encountered.

  1. During the installation (with previous xover version), it will appear to hang. This has to do with an XCOPY command not finishing. I ended up copying the files it was attempting to copy manually (looking at the /proc/xxxxx/cmdline file and reproducing it with cp), then killing the XCOPY command, and the installation process finished.
  2. Applications I have installed in my running bottle:
    Adobe AIR
    Adobe AIR 2.x
    Apple Software Update
    CrossOver HTML engine
    QuickTime 7
    Rosetta Stone Ltd Services
    Rosetta Stone TOTALe
  3. I may have had to install the AIR and Quicktime runtimes separately - I don't remember.
  4. Activation doesn't work - it complains that there isn't an internet connection to do so, however on startup it nags me about an update to version 4.1.10, so I know it is actually connecting to the internet :/
  5. Don't choose "Full screen display"! It doesn't work properly (at least for me with dual screens, in ubuntu 10.04)
  6. Microphone still doesn't work - it reports error code 1117. I see from the outstanding bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14559 that it has been fixed in git. Hopefully the codeweavers guys suck the latest wine into 11 and release an 11.0.4 version.
  7. Help didn't seem to work quite right until I installed IE7 into the bottle.

Notes: even though it nags me about the update, I haven't tried it yet. When I do, I'll post an update.

Hope this helps!

Update!

With CrossOver 11.2.0, the C-Media USB Microphone that came with Rosetta Stone works.

I first picked the 'USB Device 0x46d:0x821' from the available microphones list. Next in the microphone setup screen, it couldn't detect my voice.

I then switched the input in Ubuntu's sound properties (gnome) to the C-Media USB microphone. Rosetta Stone still didn't want to cooperate.

Then I simulated a windows reboot, and within Rosetta Stone, chose the 'In: default - Master Volume' microphone which worked.

Note: activation still doesn't work.
