Roots Magic 6 seems to run correctly under latest update.
As a new Crossover user, I have just installed RootsMagic 6 and have now got it working, though there were a couple of issues before I managed to do so.
(1) When I started RM, it presented me with the News screen, but when I selected any of the URLs, this resulted in Internet Explorer 7 being launched, but it just seemed to hang in the Connecting state. To resolve this, I used the Manage Bottles option under Configure, and then under the Advanced tab, I selected "Use Native Web Browser by Default". The URLs were then successfully loaded under my default Mac browser (which happens to be Firefox).
(2) I had fun and games trying to get RM to access my RootsMagic files, which are stored in subfolders within my Mac Documents folder (such as Documents/RM6/Files, Documents/RM6/Backup, etc). I tried using the Browse option within Tools/Program Options/Folders, but that didn't seem to set up the folder names correctly. I eventually realised that I had to type in the full path - for example Y:\Documents\RM6\Files. I seems that the Y-disk is mapped to ones Home folder (John in my case) and that one needs to use backwards slashes.
After that, RM6 seems to work very well.
I'm using Crossover 12.5.0, OS X 10.8.5, RM 6.3.0.3
I have been having this same problem ever since I started using Roots Magic more than a year ago: "When I started RM, it presented me with the News screen, but when I selected any of the URLs, this resulted in Internet Explorer 7 being launched, but it just seemed to hang in the Connecting state." I never knew how to correct it. Your solution worked like a charm & very easily. THANKS!
