I have attempted to install both games today.
I put the disks in, and the installation seemed to go ok, but when I tried to play them they wouldn't work. Immortal Cities kept telling me I didn't have a disk inserted, even though I did, and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 would just have an icon on my dock.
I am doing the free trial of CodeWeavers just so I can play these games.
I don't believe in downloading games illegally, and I don't want to pay for something I already have.
If they are both the CD releases they most likely won't work due to DRM. From what I can see, drm-free versions from GOG were tested and appear to work.
If it is DRM, then how is it that I was able to install them on multiple PCs, back before I had a mac?
PCs with Windows I assume. There are CD copy protection schemes that won't be able to work on OS X.
