Rocksmith 2014 PC Forum

Rocksmith 2014 installs fine through Steam. When launching, screen becomes black, but if you move the mouse, a huge mouse pointer is seen. The sound is working and also the keyboard, because there is audio response when typing the arrows. Pressing ESC followed by ENTER quits the game correctly, but then, my screen changes to 700 x 400 (I use an external 1920x1200 monitor through RGB). I'm using Kubuntu 14.04.5 LTS and my notebook is a Clevo with Core i7 and Intel and nVidia Optimus video with 16 GB RAM.

Any ideas to solve this?

OK, I have found a workaround for this. If I unplug the external monitor (and I did a reboot, just in case, didn't test if it is necessary, probably not) and run steam and launch Rocksmith 2014, video is working fine. Then if I plug the external monitor, image switches to it and game is usable, but screen resolution appears very low with 700 lines only. The mouse is restricted to a small area, also. While using the notebook's internal monitor, video and mouse were fine.

This screen issue with an external monitor seems to happen with many applications. I've found a workaround, by running wine configuration, selecting "Graphics" tab and enabling virtual desktop emulation. OK, this is less than ideal, to run the game in a window, but somehow, the game manages to go fullscreen when Steam launches it.
