HI. I am trying to use the musical program riyaz studio in my linux mint 18, using crossover. It installed correctly along with Internet Explorer 8. While using it, if I click to enter registration code or get registration code, wine shows error. Here is the detailed description - output of the exception in Pastebin

Can anyone help me to get rid of this error?

I tried the software on my machine, but it wouldn't install correctly, but then I'm on Arch. I might have more time in the day to try again, but no promises.

The only thing I could mention is that the FAQ recommends ie7 to be installed in the bottle. You went with ie8, so there might be something there that' s not optimal. I'm not saying this is a solution, but it could be.

Looking over your log file i see PE 63380000-63408000 Deferred jscript thats a error on javascript and it looks to me like there's a lot of problem's with some of these programs. There are also some .dll file errors and one on iexplore. Just right off the top of my head i would install Internet explorer 7 try starting it and if it still does the same thing run a debug on crossover or wine. There's a lot of things that are deferred thats causing problems it could be something as simple as ie 8 vs ie7 but i don't believe so there's a lot of problems with with things on your log like .dll files and i see some Linux packages in there as well. I run Ubuntu 16.04 here you're running Mint so our os is very close i'll download the program and test it a little here and see what i can do with it.

Ok i have the program installed with ie7 I got no errors but the program won't start i then i installed mfc42.dll and msls31 .dll files still nothing so i also installed Java and still nothing. So no progress here cause i didn 't get any errors to start with. I'll try again tomorrow when i got a little more time.

@J-P Simard: I have tried with IE 7, but this program does not actually work. With IE 8 it starts but stops when tried to register.
@Mike: Please let me know if you find out anything else. I have tried using it on Ubuntu, Mint and Elementary OS as well. Everywhere it shows same exception.
Another little thing crossing my mind - I changed architecture to 32 bit by :

Hey sorry for the late reply had some stuff i had to take care of. Looking at the last error knowing how some software works with the mscoree.dll i would download it and do a override in wine and see what that does.

Just a quick question here for anyone i seen on the Internet codeweavers T-Shirts while searching for some information i looked on here and it said from time to time they send them out to some people anyone know how to get one I'd love to have one.

I was looking on there website for information on there software , they have a youtube video on there for installing it in Crossover Mac/Linux.

I have seen the video earlier. Followed same process. Didn't work.
Also, tried overwriting mscoree.dll in wine system 32 folder. Still same errors.

I downloaded and installed Riyaz Studio in Crossover, but I was never able to get past the registration dialog either. Crossover has very little ActiveX support and even with IE and other dependencies added it's still rare that ActiveX applications will run. I would recommend a full emulator instead like VirtualBox, VMWare, or dual-booting. The Windows OS will provide the entire ActiveX framework and Riyaz will work under that.
