Issues installing RIFT (may actually be a DX 9 issue)

Hello,
I am attempting to install Rift within crossover games (10.1.2) trial version. At each attempt to install, I'm met with the following error, or something very similar to it:

2011-09-16 10:15:54.692 wineloader[447:100b] CFPreferences: user home directory at Volumes/Data%20Drive/Users/<name>/ is unavailable. User domains will be volatile.
winewrapper.exe:error: cannot execute L"\"Volumes/Data Drive/Users/<name>/Library/Application Support/CrossOver Games/installers/6e3354b6e016a9d84e99a1f94d2d5c4e.trebuc32.exe\" /T:C:\users\crossover\Temp\tmpzbA10v /C"

The installer never makes it to actually installing Rift. These errors appear to occur during the initial DX 9 and Visual C++ install (it appears to be a DX9 issue). I am using a MacBookP Pro 2.2 GHz core i7 with the upgraded gfx card option and OS X Lion. Additionally, my user profile is not stored on the same drive as the operating system, however it doesn't seem like Crossover Games is having any issues locating it.

I also attempted to create a new winxp bottle and inside that bottle, install Direct X 9 and MS Visual C++ separately from their respective Crossover pages. DX 9 install attempt result in an error very similar to the one I pasted above. MS V C++ resulted in the following message:

"The installer has exited but Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable does not seem to be installed"

Any direction or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

It looks like the error has to do with the nature of your non-standard $HOME directory. Is the drive at /Volumes/Data Drive/ internal or external? What type of file system?
