Improved Performance - D3D9.DLL

Hi Guys,

I stumbled across this in a thread unrelated to Crossover games / Wine. If you place the d3d9.dll from falloutnexus into the Rift Game folder it will make a massive improvement to the FPS in rift.

For ATI

For Nvidia
http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34778

Place in /Users/<name>/Library/Application Support/Crossover Games/Bottles/RIFT/drive_c/Program Files/RIFT game/

I went from about 8fps in sanctum to ~27 fps on my ATI 5770, using the normal renderer on Min settings.

Just need a fix for the tearing models now.

I have now reverted back to 10.6.8 from Lion 10.7.1 and the performance using this DLL is comparable to running natively under Windows.

just to note, this did not affect my performance running under linux.

Kubuntu 11.04
Nvidia GTX 570
CXG 10.1.1

In linux, it may require an override to take effect, but I currently lack a linux install to test it.

I have no idea what kind of voodoo is going on with that patched DLL but it definitely improved my frame rate in OS X Lion on the latest (max spec) Macbook Pro

I as well can confirm that this works, 2011 macbook pro 2.2 GHz i7, 8gb ram, Radeon hd 6750 1024mb running lion fps in full screen on ultra with distance objects on highest hovers around 29 - 33 fps

Can you downsample your image? I think the 8Mb file size is causing it not to load.

Updated the pic, 800x600 was still to big so 640x480 will have to do hard to see the numbers but it is readable.

it didnt work for me :( i think it actually made it slower! but maybe cause i was using the nvidia one whereas you were using the ATI one. any help? im on low quality render with a 2010 white macbook which i upgraded with 4gb of ram, it runs wow at 30 fps :P any help will be appreciated

Maybe I'm putting it in the wrong place?
I dropped it in Program Files from my downloads and got nothing but an endless parade of error reports.
