Rift Connection Error

I was able to install RIFT quite easily on my macbook pro using crossover games, however I have not been able to connect to the character servers to play the game. It gets to around 71-77% percent and then gives me the following message: 130: Connecting to character selection at other address 208.44.27.79:XX, and then says "error cannot connect to character servers." I tried reinstalling the game, and it ran more smoothly the second time, but then I got the same error again. I've seen similar posts around the internet, but no solutions so far.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Exact same story here, on a MacBook Air (late 2010).

When you said, "I tried reinstalling the game, and it ran more smoothly the second time", does that mean you got it to work at least once, without a connection error? If so, interesting....

To answer your question, the second time I installed it the intro movie actually played and none of the menus/screens have been glitchy at all as they were when I initially installed Rift via crossover games. Hopefully someone will come up with a solution soon so my 50 dollars won't have been wasted 😥

Hey guys.

Exact same thing is happening to me. Total bummer. I hope there will be a fix soon!

Has NE1 been able to connect with the Mac yet... its funny that I can login and patch but not actually be able to connect to the game server itself.

Hi,

Open eyes that little bit wider please -- there's a sticky thread here
at the top I created specifically for this issue, and all the latest news
& info is in that thread...

Cheers!
