Launcher does not detect hardware

The launcher presently does not detect the hardware it wants. It gives this message under the Purchase tab:

A detectable CPU, permanent storage device, and Ethernet or wireless card are required to purchase the simulation. Currently, this applications cannot detect these components.

The "configure sim" button opens a dialog that clearly sees the CPU and video card, however. It may be looking for hard drive and/or network ID's. Is it possible to insert these into a bottle?

... I think the error message is a misnomer of sorts ; I had
a poke at 0.69 in the current cx11 release looking at debug --
as you note, the config utility seemingly identifies the machine
spec fine (my test wrt linux btw), caveat vram (only 503mb was
being detected here on my 9800gt with 1024mb vram). Even with
a clean installation, you'll hit the error message in the GUI,
but files in the game directory have been written and are 'on
the money' enough to expect that the CPU/GPU/Volumes should be being
reported as OK...(or at least present), and the network interface
-appears- to be detected correctly as well (in debug)...

...going by how rFactor behaves wrt online negotiations/purchase
etc, and how components from IE7 are needed to make that happen,
I suspect what we're seeing here is that online interface code
breaking somewhere, leading us to be erroneously presented with
that error message ..ie; it's lying =) ...

... umm .... it strikes me that the actual error message text,
is going to be easy to isolate (for the rfactor2 devs), and they'll
have a pretty good idea of why things are 'falling thru' to that
point -- I think, going by what I see in debug, it's going to
make more sense for me to email a beta report to the rfactor devs,
before hoisting a cx/wine related bug on the problem ...

...I'll do that over the weekend, and post back here with any
anything I might discover or be otherwise informed of...

.

...well, that was a bit like the Cheese Shop sketch .."it was an act
of purest optimism to have posed the question in the first place"...

...the answer from the ISI folks was one of 'perhaps crossover is
not compatible'.... yeah, right... {sigh}...

..I've entered rFactor2 into the WineHQ appdb ... I'll start there,
and see if something can be gotten moving on this ; I'll post that
URL back here soon as I have it...

edit: I somehow think winebugs #25252 & #20651 are participle here..
